Fieldrunners, the popular tower defense title for the iPhone, is finally coming to Android powered kits this Thursday.
First released in 2008 as an iPhone exclusive, the strategy gem has since been ported to various handheld platforms. Soon, Fandroids can also get in on the action when it lands in the Android Market day on June 30th.
Originally, developer Subatomic Studios had planned to release the game for free for a limited period. However, as the Android Market does not allow free apps to be changed to premium price points at a later date, it will instead be offered at the minimum price point of 99 cents (about 61p) for the first 24 hours of its release. After that it will go back up to $2.99 (£1.86)
Subatomic has said, though, that it is still looking at other avenues to make the title available for free.
So keep an eye out on third-party marketplaces like GetJar and the Amazon Appstore for the off chance of snapping it up gratis.
