Smartfans anxious to pick up the newest member of the Xperia family, the pro, will have to wait a bit longer, as Sony Ericsson (SE) revealed that the handset’s scheduled release has been pushed back a month.
Unveiled in February alongside the much-hyped Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc at the Mobile World Congress, the pro got somewhat lost in the shuffle and slipped off the radar before popping back up again with a June release date on the SE website.
However, this has now been changed to ‘late July’, meaning there’s at least six more weeks of waiting to get your hands on one, although preorders are still open for the phone for £349.99.
Standout features of the pro include a 3.7-inch touchscreen with Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA tech, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 and an eight-megapixel snapper with an Exmor R sensor.
Where it stands out from its older brothers is a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
Customers wishing to purchase the handset SIM free can place their orders right now on SE’s website. If you’re not of mind to fork out the full amount, however, stay tune for imminent announcements from networks regarding contract options.
