Games-maker Rovio has celebrated what is to set to be the launch of the last-ever Space Shuttle mission with a special space-themed level for casual gaming phenom Angry Birds.
Available now for Android handsets and the iPhone, the new addition to Angry Birds Seasons Summer Pignic episode takes everyone’s favourite avenging avians and their porcine foes into the depths of the galaxy.
And to spice things up, this time around there’s an option to play in anti-gravity mode, adding a new twist to the title’s somewhat idiosyncratic physics.
News of the birds, who are already taking over toy stores everywhere, colonising yet another frontier comes as Rovio last month secured the services of Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel to oversee their move onto the silver screen.
And the quest for world domination doesn’t end there. Also incoming in the Angry Birds pipeline are TV shows, animated shorts and even a cookbook to capitalise on the vogue for cakes based on the series cartoony stars.
