A new image of the Sony Ericsson (SE) Xperia Duo has leaked online along with specs, as the phone maker gears up for an anticipated third quarter launch for its next flagship smartie.
According to Chinese site 168.com, the phone will land in September. In keeping with its moniker, it’ll also reportedly be home to a dual core processor, either courtesy of NovaThor or Qualcomm.
Elsewhere, there’s a positively tablet-esque 4.5-inch qHD display featuring the same Bravia engine tech sported by the Arc as well as high-end Sony tellyboxes.
And rounding things off is the latest 2.3 version of Android (or Gingerbread to you and me), plus a 12-megapixel rear mounted snapper. A front-facing VGA number hasn’t been confirmed, but given the rest of the specs on the device, we’d be staggered if that wasn’t present and correct too.
The imminent arrival of yet another Xperia branded kit from Sony Ericsson comes as it looks to turn around a disappointing early showing in 2011, after weak demand for the Play and delays caused by the Japanese earthquake disaster combined to stymie sales.
