HTC could be about to unveil a suite of new smartphones next month, after calling one of its periodic public meet-ups for next month.
Scheduled for September 1st in London, the invite to show-and-tell event appeared on Facebook this morning, where it was picked up on by the Pocket Lint team.
Alas, it makes no mention of exactly what we can expect. But teases us with an entreaty to “come and see what’s next” for the phone and tablet maker.
However, given that HTC earlier this month announced plans to release six to eight devices in the third quarter, we’d be staggered if we don’t get at least one new slice of cellular goodness to feast our eyes on.
Top of our wish list, naturally, is a new addition to the Desire range – preferably with a dual core processor that brings HTC’s Android flagship line up to speed with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S2 et al.
And given that HTC’s most recent efforts were deemed underpowered by some of its fans, it’s very likely indeed that they’ll have taken that on board and addressed with their forthcoming top of the range kits.
We’re also holding out hope that we could get our first glimpse of HTC’s debut handsets powered by Windows Mango - the next major iteration of Microsoft’s smartphone platform.
