Motorola has announced that a new software update for Xoom tablets in the UK is scheduled to release next month.
Android 3.2, aka Honeycomb, will begin rolling out to Xoom devices in Blighty in September, bringing an array of performance optimisations to the slate for an all-round smoother user experience.
Arriving merely a month after the release of Android 3.1 on these shores, the update’s speedy discharge was no doubt boosted by Google’s landmark buyout of the US phone-maker earlier this week.
Features it brings include a zoom mode that allows applications that have been developed with smartphones in mind to be scaled up to the Xoom’s more capacious screen size, and improved SD card support, which allows media files stored on a card to be accessed directly on third-party apps.
