Vodafone UK has launched a new Android application, My Vodafone, to help customers keep tabs on their accounts as well as locate nearby Wi-Fi hotspots.
The free-to-download app allows users to track exactly how many minutes, text messages and data they have remaining for the month, thus significantly reducing the risks of eating through their allowance too quickly or running out of credit.
There’s also information about users' price plans, such as the amount they're paying, the last bill, when the next bill is due and the renewal date of the contract.
Better yet, if the phone is used abroad, they'll also be able to keep an eye on your roaming charges.
The coolest feature of the app though, is a built-in Wi-Fi Finder that scans and displays nearby BT Openzone hotspots, and gives you directions to get there on Google Maps. This is a massive boon for heavy users since these are bundled as part of Vodafone’s price plans.
Lastly, a separate section is on board to answer frequently asked questions and an option to quickly get in touch with the Vodafone customer rep in case you’re still stumped.
My Vodafone is available right now from the Android Market for devices running Android 1.6 (Donut) and higher.
