Three has confirmed it will be offering the newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy W when it lands in the UK.
Hot on the heels of Samsung’s announcement this morning that it is re-jigging its naming scheme for Galaxy smartphones with the introduction of several tier-based models, the UK network has revealed it will be the first to offer the Galaxy W – aka ‘High-Tier’ – model at launch.
Powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the W – short for 'Wonder' - is home to a 1.4GHz single-core processor, a 3.7-inch LCD touchscreen, a five-megapixel snapper and a front-facing VGA for video calls – making it fairly high-end compared to similarly spec’d handsets from rivals.
It also supports 14.4Mbps HSDPA, Wi-Fi and comes with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI slathered on top.
Punters will be able to pick up the handset on Three’s One Plan contracts as well as pay as you go, both of which come with all-you-can-eat-data.
Pricing details have yet to be revealed, but we don’t expect it to go over £35 at most on a two-year contract. Rest assured, we’ll bring you all the gen as soon we have it.
