The official Facebook application for the iPhone has been updated, bringing an array of enhancements introduced by the social network’s recent privacy and sharing changes.
Version 3.5 enables users to tag friends and places in posts and adds the ability to share external links from a web view. The sharing tool has been upgraded, incorporating new inline privacy controls on posts that allow you to select exactly who can see your updates.
There are UI improvements, too. The profile page and Group walls now boast a much cleaner, slicker interface and it’s easier to select filters in the News Feed. The speed of Notifications has also been improved, as well as the overall performance and stability of the app.
Elsewhere, the update takes care of some of the previous version's niggles, such as a number Chat and Photos bugs and a glitch that caused the Notifications bar to randomly disappear.
iFans can grab the latest software right now from the App Store. iOS 5 developers, however, should beware as there have been reports of the application becoming unusable in the beta release of the OS.
