O2 has nabbed exclusive rights to sell the 'female-friendly' HTC Rhyme in the UK, it has confirmed via Twitter, with contract deals on offer from October 17th.
The handset formerly informally titled the Bliss was showcased this week at HTC’s NYC meet ‘n’ greet, as the phone maker bids to extend the appeal of its Android phones to tha’ ladies.
That equates to offering a choice of Clearwater, Hourglass and Plum colourways, in a departure from the gun-metal greys and sober black shades of most smarties running Google's platform.
And to, ahem, really sell it to the gals, the Rhyme rocks tangle-resistant headphones and a wireless charm that sits outside a purse or handbag and lights up to alert users to an incoming call.
Elsewhere, the phone’s specs place it firmly in the mid-range bracket - think: Android 2.3 out of the box with a new, custom built take on HTC’s Sense custom user interface over the top, a less-than-brawny 1GHz processor and a five megapixel camera.
Rounding things off is a secondary, front-facing snapper for video calls and a 3.7-inch SuperLCD screen.
