HTC could be about to lift the lid on its latest Android challenger, a press invite suggests, as the phone-maker looks to reassert its position as the go-to-brand for Google’s platform.
The showcase, billed as a "press conference and party” and trailed on HTC's Facebook page, is scheduled for October 6th in London, but makes no mention of what HTC’s got in store for us. However, the smart money is surely on the recently leaked Vigor handset making its official debut.
In news likely to be welcomed by anyone irked by the spread of American English , the smartie looks like it’ll be retitled ‘Incredible HD’ for us in Blighty. Features on board include Android 2.3 out of the box, a none-too-shabby 1.5 GHz dual core processor and an eight-megapixel camera.
More interestingly surely, though, is that, according to the mobile mavens at SlashGear, it’s also reportedly the first HTC handset to be built from the ground up with Beats by Dre audio tech.
When the phone will land on contracts is anyone’s guess right now. But rest easy in the knowledge that as soon as we know, you will too.
