iPhone 5 & 4S to offer HSPA+ support for fast browsing?

The iPhone 5 will feature HSPA+ connectivity for web browsing at speeds of up to 21.6Mb, it is being claimed, as iRumours continue to swirl ahead of the phone’s launch next month.

Leaked slides from the Macworld Asia conferences, which were sourced by Pocket Now via China Unicron, appear to reveal that the next Apple smartie will use the 3G technology to handle web pages significantly faster.

Assuming this is true, it could be a welcome addition for would-be buyers in countries where seriously super fast 4G networks, which the phone is expected to support, are in their infancy. So that’s most of them, including us in Blighty of course.

Significantly, it would also bring the iPhone 5 in line with its single biggest rival in the smartphone space: the ten million-selling Android behemoth that is the Samsung Galaxy S2.

News of hitherto unanticipated features of Apple’s next smartie comes days ahead of its official unveiling on October 4th when, as rumours suggest, we could have not one but two Apple phones to feast our peepers on.

Alongside a major upgrade in the form of the iPhone 5, the launch line-up is also said to include a lower end model informally dubbed the iPhone 4S.
