Shipments of iPhone 4 handsets are on the way down, reports suggest, in a further sign that the fifth-gen Apple handset is nigh.
According to Taiwanese tech business site DigiTimes, industry experts have discerned signs of a possible reduction in shipments of the iPhone 4 from Apple’s main manufacturing partner Foxconn in August.
The move is likely to be due to “inventory adjustments” in keeping with the downturn in demand for current-gen kits when a new model is imminent.
The latest buzz from the online rumour mill now suggests that the iPhone will be landing October 15th, after a loose-lipped exec from Orange named the date in an interview with a French broadcaster.
You want specs? We’ve also only got rumours to go on. But if the welter of speculation is to believed the iPhone 5 will feature a smaller and lighter design, an eight-megapixel snapper – up from the five-megapixel number that features on the iPhone 4 – and a larger four-inch screen.
