The next iPhone, 4S or 5 or both, will come in a choice of three storage options, rumours suggest.
Manufacturing sources cited by 9to5Mac have disclosed that Apple is has “at least been prototyping” a 64GB version of its forthcoming phone, which it’s claimed will sit alongside an entry-level 16GB edition and mid-range 32GB option.
The news casts into doubt mounting suggestions that the Cupertino-based company will release a cheaper model, aka the iPhone 4S, this year alongside its flagship iPhone 5.
At least part of the way the tech giant was expected to keep the price of its low-cost offering down is by keeping on board storage low, possibly limiting capacity to a trifling 8GB.
Either way, we’re sure to find out soon enough. An Apple press invite recently confirmed that it will lift the lid on it new handset(s) on October 4th at its California campus, with whatever it is that’s unveiled due to land on store shelves around ten days later.
