Hot on the heels of Apple’s “Let’s talk iPhone” announcement, Samsung too has decided to hold its own media event a week later - potentially clashing with the launch of the Nexus Prime.
Earlier this week, Apple sent out press invites for an iPhone-related gathering on October 4th, which is all but confirmed as the day the world will finally lay lies on the hotly awaited iPhone 5. Not to be put in the shade, Samsung has announced a special ‘Google Episode’ at its Unpacked 2011 event on October 11th at 11.30am in San Diego for a look at ‘what’s new from Android’.
Unlike Apple's emails announcing its event, Sammy’s invite does not specifically mention a Nexus handset or any phone at all. However, if rumours are to be trusted it could be available by early November.
Leaks suggest the Nexus Prime will be a significant improvement over its predecessor, with features that include a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.5GHz dual core processor, an eight-megapixel camera and the latest Ice Cream Sandwich iteration of Android on board.
