High street vendor Carphone Warehouse has announced it will be stocking the newly announced Android flagship smartie, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, when it lands in Blighty next month.
Punters eager to get their hands on the hotly awaited handset for free will be able do so on a range of two-year contracts starting at £35 a month. Unfortunately, it did not reveal what allowances can be expected for the outlay.
So far O2, Vodafone and Three have already confirmed they'll be on board for the launch and others are expected to follow soon. Although a firm release date is still hard to come by, it should definitely be available by November’s end.
Unveiled earlier this week, the Galaxy Nexus has been co-developed by Samsung and Google and packs some of the latest tech in mobiles anywhere. Standout features include a capacious 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.2GHz dual core processor, a five-megapixel camera that records in 1080p HD, Near Field Communications (NFC) support and a whole host of advanced sensors and connectivity options.
It is also the first smartphone to run the latest Ice Cream Sandwich release of Android, which promises to bring a revamped user interface, enhanced multitasking and cutting-edge face detection technology.
Stay tuned for more news and announcements for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the weeks to come.
