Samsung has officially announced the date the Galaxy Note will go on sale in Blighty: November 17th.
Unveiled at the IFA 2011 expo in Berlin last month, the Galaxy Note will launch in the UK just in time for the holiday rush, despite fears it may not until early next year.
Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland said: “The Galaxy Note is a great example of Samsung's passion for innovation by bringing to market a brand new category of mobile products. It is our fastest handset to date and brings together all the benefits of our award-winning smartphone technology and services."
Billed as a ‘new type of smartphone’, the Note packs tablet-esque features in a smartphone’s body. Standout specs include a positively massive 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, a dual core 1.4GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 1GB of RAM and an eight-megapixel snapper with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilization, the lot.
What sets it apart from the rest, though, is that it can also be used with a stylus, making it appealing to both creative and business-minded users. Or at least those that still reminisce about the glory days of the PDA.
Several online vendors are already taking preorders for the Note. However, we’re still awaiting word on which networks will offer it on contracts as we like our expensive gadgets even more when subsidised for free.
Stay tuned as we bring you more details in the weeks to come.
