Amidst all yesterday’s Nokia’s Windows Phone talk, the Finnish handset manufacturer still managed to show some love to their MeeGo-powered N9 smartphone, announcing a new edition of the attractive, if somewhat elusive, handset.
The forthcoming white variant of the Nokia N9 will arrive in a glossy sheen, as opposed to the striking matte colourway of previous models.
Unfortunately, an N9 release in the UK seems less likely than ever, with the aesthetically similar Lumia 800 due to make an appearance on major mobile networks from November 16th.
There is a silver lining for those who do manage to seek out an N9 however, with Nokia set to issue an update to the MeeGo-powered device that will bring usability improvements, as well as NFC tag reading.
The update will be available to download in the fourth quarter of this year, and will hopefully be a fitting coda to the N9 before Nokia focuses upon Windows pastures.
