Phones 4U has announced the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now available to preorder via its website and that it is on course to meet the handset’s official launch date of November 17th.
The high street retailer is currently taking preorders for the Galaxy Nexus on a range of contracts with Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange and O2. The most popular tariffs start at £31 a month on a two-year term, which requires an upfront cost of £59.99 for the handset. Alternatively, punters can snap it up free with a £41 a month plan.
With online vendors backpedalling on the promised due date, most notably Amazon which shifted the availability to early December, Phones 4U has assured would-be owners it will deliver the handset to customers’ hands on the day of launch.
“Preorder for your chance to have it delivered before 9am on launch day 17th November!,” the retailer confirmed.
Crammed with cutting-edge tech, the Galaxy Nexus is home to a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD panel, a 1.2GHz dual core processor, a five-megapixel camera that shoots clips at 1080p HD and 16GB of internal storage.
It is also the first handset to market to operate on the latest Ice Cream Sandwich release of Android, which promises to merge the best features of the smartphone-oriented Gingerbread iteration with those of the tablet-optimised Honeycomb.
These include a new face detection screen unlock mechanism, a revamped UI and an enhanced multitasking interface that allows users to simply swipe to switch or terminate running apps.
