Nokia Lumia 800 owners are reporting issues with the handset’s battery life, as the new model Espoo gets off to shaky start in its bid to regain a place at the smartphone maker’s top table.
A matter of days after it dropped, Nokia support forums are today littered with testimonies from piqued users claiming their handset is playing free and easy with its juice.
According to one owner, now on his second Lumia 800 after encountering battery longevity issues with his first handset, the smartie’s stamina is so bad it died out just two hours after using it on a full charge.
Others report their phone losing a whopping 65 per cent of its battery when in standby mode overnight, also having started with a full charge.
Nokia, which is pinning its hopes on the Lumia 800 to restore its tarnished rep, has yet to acknowledge the glitch. But with rumours surfacing earlier this week that a battery-boosting update for the handset is already in the pipeline suggests that it could even have known about the issues pre-launch.
Either way, it’s far from the only handset currently beset with battery flaws right now. iPhone 4S owners are also currently facing disappointing battery longevity after Apple’s fix pushed out last week failed to address the causes fully.
