Fresh stock of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be sans the irksome bug that caused the volume to drop at random intervals, it has been confirmed.
SIM-free specialist Expansys told uSwitch Tech that stock of what’s perhaps the year’s most-wanted Android kit had been held back from retailers while Samsung added a firmware update to fix the volume control bug. So from hereon in, you can buy with confidence.
As yet, there’s still no hard and fast date for an update for Galaxy Nexus owners who’ve already got their phones and are still being hamstrung by missed calls and alarms. However, according to our source, Google has now at least approved the firmware patch – suggesting that we won’t have too much longer to wait.
Expansys expects to have fresh supplies of the Galaxy Nexus from tomorrow (November 30th). As is only fair, customers who’ve pre-ordered from the site already will be first in line to get their hands on Sammy’s latest, with remaining stock “available to order on Expansys.com as soon as it drops”.
