The ongoing volume muting issues on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are also having an impact on other functions, we have been told.
uSwitch readers who picked up Google’s latest addition to the Nexus family have informed us that when typing on the Android Market, the keyboard stops responding for several seconds whenever the volume controller ker-aziness crops up. The web browser also reportedly stops loading pages, which suggests that the problem is not just limited to making and receiving calls.
Previously, it’s been theorised that a glitch with the 2G signal on the handset may be responsible for the erratic behavior. However, Google has confirmed the problem is software related, which it is currently in the process of remedying with a fix that is being rolled out as we speak.
With consumer interest waning fast and negative press dominating the column inches, the search giant will need to ensure the patch does the trick or it could very well turn into an already embarrassing situation into a PR disaster.
