Google resumes Nexus S Ice Cream Sandwich rollout

Good news, fandroids! Google has recommenced the full-scale rollout of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update following a minor delay to monitor feedback.

The search giant announced via Google+ that the update is once more ready and will be pushed out to devices in the coming weeks.

“We're rolling out Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, to GSM/UMTS Nexus S devices over the coming month, starting today. Enjoy the tasty update!”

The update was temporarily suspended earlier this week to review stability following reports of a faster battery drain since upgrading. However, the briefness of the pause suggests the problem may not be related or at least has been remedied.

Whatever the case, Nexus S owners can soon look to some tasty new treats with ICS, including a re-jigged UI, enhanced multitasking, updated apps and new NFC-enabled feature called Android Beam that lets you exchange data between devices by just touching them together.
