Consumers have shrugged concerns over the iPhone 4S’s battery life and catcalls from vinegary churls that it was a disappointing iterative update to name Apple’s fifth-gen smartphone its most popular so far.
In a study conducted by ChangeWave Research, 96 per cent of iPhone 4S owners said they were either “very satisfied” or “somewhat satisfied” with Cupertino’s blockbuster blower.
And the feature that’s justifying their love? That would be Siri. Of those polled, 50 per cent named the wry voice-activated personal assistant as one the things they liked most about the 4S.
The handset’s ease of use and eight-megapixel snapper also scored highly, with 39 per cent and 33 per cent of respondents naming them among their favourite features.
Predictably the 4S’s battery longevity (since addressed with a fix/iOS update) went down less well. But perhaps in a tacit admission that consumers accept that battery life is one of smartphones’ Achilles’ heels whatever the brand, just 38 per cent named it as a major bugbear.
The poll also revealed that the repositioning of the antenna in the 4S has made 'antennagate' a dim and distant memory, with only 2.5 per cent citing dropped calls as a problem.
