Move aside Motorola: Huawei has announced the world’s slimmest ever smartphone, the Ascend P1 S.
Measuring a positively anorexic 6.68mm-thick, the Ascend is thinner than even the 7.1mm Motorola Razr and pulls no punches when it comes to high-end specs either, sporting a 4.3-inch (540 x 960) Super AMOLED display, a 1.5GHz dual core chipset (accompanied by 1GB of RAM and an SGX 540 GPU) and an eight-megapixel camera.
That said, the thin design does mean battery capacity takes a slight hit at 1670mAh. But for those concerned about running out of juice, a thicker, 7.69mm version with a larger 1800mAh battery will also be available.
And the great news is that both handsets will run the latest Ice Cream Sandwich iteration of Google’s Android operating system out of the box and are expected to hit store shelves in major territories worldwide in Q2 2012.
Unfortunately, pricing details have not yet been revealed, but we will let you know those as soon as we do.
