The iPad 3 will be announced in early February, shadowy tipsters abreast of developments claim, sending the rumour mill into overdrive in anticipation of Apple’s third generation slate.
Japanese tech blog Macotakara has been reportedly tipped off by supply chain sources in Asia and a ‘source in America’ that Apple will host a media event next month to officially unveil the tablet with a release date likely set in March.
The Cupertino-based giant is also expected showcase the latest release version of iOS, which has been in beta since the launch of the iPhone 4S and could possibly debut Siri on the iPad and other non-iPhone devices.
Details are still thin on the ground as to what improvements can be expected on the hotly awaited slate.
