Sony Ericsson (SE) has unveiled four intimately close snaps of what’s being widely tipped as the upcoming Xperia Arc HD smartphone – also known as the Xperia Nozomi.
The London-based phone-maker posted the pictures on its Facebook and Google+ pages, giving smartfans a first glimpse of what SE is billing as a “big announcement”.
The photos show a dedicated camera shutter release button, a microUSB port, a camera lens with ‘HD’ written under it, and a screenshot of the camera-gallery toggle.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise that the theme here is clearly the handset’s camera, which based on what little information is available out there, is likely a 12-megapixel number with an Exmor R CMOS sensor and full HD recording capabilities at 1080p.
A higher-resolution camera is certainly something to get excited about, especially if you’re an avid photographer. As is the prospect of full HD recording, which was conspicuously missing on the Arc S.
Other mooted specs include a 1.5GHz dual core processor and at least a 4.3-inch display with a native 720p HD resolution. Of course these are wholly unsubstantiated at this point, so take them with a pinch of salt.
Whatever it ends up packing, we won’t have to wait too long to find out, SE teased.
"Just a few more days until we can reveal some interesting news,” it posted on Facebook.
Stay tuned as we bring you the latest news and developments as we get them.
