A number of Android Ice Cream Sandwich updates are set to hit devices next month, it has been confirmed.
According to an OS update roadmap from French carrier SFR, Android 4.0.5 will be rolled out to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Google Nexus S in March, making them the most up-to-date kits running Google’s platform anywhere.
It’s as-yet unknown exactly what changes this will include, but based on user testimonials of a recent upgrade to Android 4.0.4 stateside, the update likely brings mainly performance optimisations and bug fixes.
Additionally, SFR also revealed that Ice Cream Sandwich is scheduled arrive on the HTC Sensation and the Samsung Galaxy S2 in March, meaning a UK rollout can’t be too far behind.
Features of the 4.0 version of Android include a revamped UI, enhanced multitasking and improved customisability of widgets and home screens.
That’s about all the gen we have for now. But as soon as we know more, you will too.
