The iPad 3 will be unveiled next month in sunny Cali, an Apple event invitation has all but confirmed.
Sent out to tech mavens and favoured scribes last night, the invite to the March 7th event clearly shows someone using an iPad – leaving us in little doubt what the Cupertino giant has in store for us.
More cryptic - but, in truth, not much more - and more redolent of earlier, characteristically enigmatic Apple press call messaging is the strapline at the foot of the invitation.
In a crashingly loud hint that the third-gen tablet will feature a high density retina display, we’re promised that the event will be graced by “something you really have to see. And touch”.
Speculation that Apple would bring the iPhone’s high density retina display over to its slate has been rife since the months leading up to the release of the iPad 2.
The next-gen iPad is also expected to feature an A6 quad-core processor, more memory, a longer-life battery and a new tapering design that takes its cues from the MacBook Air.
