Samsung Galaxy Note owners could be due an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) as early as next month, a leading mobile industry analyst has claimed.
Earlier today, the staggeringly well-connected Eldar Murtazin claimed via Twitter that S2 users will get their dose of Android 4.0 update love on March 1st. Good news, no?
The even better news is that It now looks like Note owners could be about to join them in getting a taste of ICS that month, according to Murtazin, who claims that other Galaxy branded models will follow between March and May.
The mobile sage-cum-editor of Mobile Review’s tweet stated: “Galaxy note and other samsung models will get update to ics from march to may. Depends from carrier/country.”
Galaxy phones confirmed for an OS upgrade at some stage include the US-only Galaxy S2 LTE and the Samsung Galaxy R.
Tablets in line for the bump to Android 4.0 are the Tab 10.1, Tab 8.9, Tab 7.7 and the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
Features ICS brings include an improved user interface and better multitasking. Also incoming is screen unlock with face detection technology and new versions of stock apps.
