A new build of Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) has been leaked for the Samsung Galaxy S2, suggesting that the latest OS refresh is almost ready for an official roll out.
The build, codenamed I9100XXLPB, was caught on camera, giving us a fresh glimpse of how it runs of Sammy’s best-selling kit. And we can confirm it looks positively delicious.
It is the second leaked internal build of ICS for the S2 and is dated January 29th, which means it shouldn’t be much longer before the gold (final) version is released as promised sometime this quarter, possibly mid-March.
Major improvements ICS brings to the platform include a reworked UI, which melds surprisingly well Samsung’s custom TouchWiz skin, a novel screen unlock mechanism that uses face detection technology, updated apps and widgets, enhanced multitasking and an all-round smoother, faster user experience.
Stay tuned as we bring you the latest on ICS for the Galaxy S2 in the coming weeks.
