Consumers will be able to get their hands on the first-ever Sony-only branded phone in mid-March, the handset-maker has told uSwitch Tech.
According to Sony’s PR coves, the Sony Xperia S will arrive on contracts, with all major UK carriers except Vodafone, in two-weeks’ time.
In keeping with its status as the company’s flagship device, pricing will be in line with last year’s billboard Sony Ericssson (SE) kit, the Xperia Arc S. So expect to pay £30 per month over two years to get it free.
The just-unveiled Xperia P and Xperia U are due shortly after with an estimated due date of late April/early May. Price points will broadly mirror the SE Xperia Ray (£25 per month on free phone deals) and the Xperia U Mini Pro (free from £20 per month) respectively.
The handsets, which are the first to come under Sony’s newly minted NXT brand, are being marked as much on their media smarts and the ease with which users can share content with other Sony gadgets as they are on their spec sheets.
