Would-be New iPad buyers in the UK will be able to get their hands on the third-gen tablet in eight days’ time, Apple has confirmed.
The New iPad will hit shop shelves in Blighty on March 16th, as Apple adheres to the nine-day gap between launch and retail availability that was ushered in with the iPad 2.
Tech fans who absolutely, positively must be among the first to own the latest bit of iCandy from day-one can sign up now for updates from Three, which has confirmed it’ll be offering the New iPad “very soon”.
Whether that means contract deals will be available from the 16th isn’t yet clear. But the fact that Three’s network is equipped with the HSPA+ technology that the New iPad supports to deliver speeds of up to 21Mb means it’s well worth making a note of among your 3G carrier options.
Unveiled yesterday, the New iPad improves on its predecessor with a high density retina display and a dual-core A5X processor with a graphics processing unit that’s four times as powerful as the A5.
An enhanced iSight five megapixel snapper is also on board, complete with a revamped version of iPhoto, as well as voice dictation and 4G support in select territories.
