The Nokia PureView 808 will go on sale in the UK in seven weeks’ time, as availability details of the handset heroes of last month’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) finally begin to emerge.
According to a product listing on Unlocked Mobiles, the headline-grabbing, 41-megapixel camera-toting smartphone will be available to buy SIM-free from April 23rd. Contract deals are likely to be up for grabs around the same time.
The SIM-free phones specialist retailer lists the PureView 808 with a price point of £464.98. By our reckoning, that ought to equate to a price of between £25 and £30 per month on monthly contracts with a free handset.
Billed as the highest-grade camera phone so far, the handset also offers 1080p video recording, a somewhat underpowered 1.3 GHz single-core processor and 16BG of storage for all those snaps you’ll be taking.
Alas, unlike other recent flagship kits from Nokia, the PureView runs the creaky Symbian operating system rather than the more modern livetile-based Windows Phone platform.
