Samsung Galaxy S2 owners look unlikely to get an invite to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update party this month, as the carrier continues to conduct compatibility tests on the latest version of Google’s OS.
ICS, or to give it its formal title Android 4.0, began rolling out to the S2 on Three and O2 this week. But any hopes that T-Mobile customers will join them any day soon seemed dashed today by a Twitter update from the carrier.
Responding to a customer query, T-Mobile’s rep confirmed that the update is still ‘going through testing’.
With time rapidly running out in March, it now seems more likely that owners of Sammy’s blockbuster blower on T-Mobile will get it in April, along with those of you on the carrier’s partner network, Orange.
Features ICS brings to the handset, when it does eventually land on T-Mobile, include an improved, faster browser and longer battery life.
News of the network's plans comes as some UK users of unlocked phones, who would normally be first in line to get an OS bump, are still awaiting an update to Android 4.0.
