Carphone Warehouse is the latest outlet to confirm Samsung’s mysterious “next Galaxy” as the Galaxy S3, revealing the name in a temporary holding page in anticipation of the handset’s impending unveiling.
The high street retailer has added the S3 to the ‘coming soon’ section of its site hot on the heels of confirmation from O2 and Vodafone that they are on board for the launch.
Earlier this week, the description text of Samsung’s official Unpacked app also referred to the device as the Galaxy S3, alleviating concerns from some in the sector that the phone-maker might follow Apple’s “new iPad” approach in a choosing a more oblique name for the Galaxy S2 successor.
Features expected to be on board the highly anticipated kit include a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display, a 1.4GHz Exynos quad core processor, a 12-megapixel camera and 16GB of internal storage.
Samsung is expected to officially lift the lid on the Galaxy S3 on May 3rd at London’s Earl’s Court. We’ll be there to cover developments, so stay tuned.
