The Samsung Galaxy S3 has racked up a whopping 10 million pre-orders from carriers, an industry expert claims, leaving it halfway to surpassing the S2 as Sammy’s best-selling phone before it even hits retail.
According to Eldar Murtazin, a seemingly extraordinarily well connected mobile sage and tech site editor, the S3 has hit the landmark figure already, despite the fact that a concrete release date and specs for the handset remain closely guarded secrets.
As you might expect that’s not stopped the industry rumour mill going in to overdrive, though. Quite the opposite in fact, with the lack of specifics seeming to stoke febrile speculation in a way that’s almost redolent of an Apple launch.
If the most recent leaks are to believed, the smartie will feature dual operating systems – one skinned with a custom UI and one vanilla - and a waterproof coating for the handset's innards.
It’s also purportedly home to a brawny Exynos quad-core processor to bring it in line with rival kits from HTC and LG, as well as a 12 megapixel camera and runs Android 4.0, aka Android Ice Cream Sandwich, out of the box.
