Sony has become the latest tech giant to jump on board the cloud bandwagon, unveiling its own storage solution to take on rivals’ efforts.
Dubbed PlayMemories, the service is currently available in the UK via a browser-based client and mobile applications for iOS and Android, both of which are downloadable right now.
Like Google’s just-launched Drive and Apple’s iCloud, PlayMemories offers 5GB of free storage. However, right now this only offers synchronisation of photos and videos, meaning you can’t store your emails or documents.
Still, it’s not half bad for a place to stash your memories (yeah, had to), and Sony is already working to bring the service to its BRAVIA televisions later in the summer, enabling users to access their multimedia in the living room without a secondary device.
Head over to the App Store or Google Play to grab the PlayMemories app free of charge.
