Samsung Galaxy S2 owners on T-Mobile can grab the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) right now, as the network begins rolling out an over-the-air update.
The big pink network is the last major UK operator to release ICS, following weeks of testing to ensure a smooth launch. Last week, its partner network Orange revealed the OS upgrade would be downloadable directly via Samsung’s Kies PC software rather than as a more usual update.
Features ICS brings to the platform include updated versions of native apps, enhanced multitasking, a new web browser and last but not least, Face Unlock, which is a new security mechanism that uses face detection technology to verify that the person trying to access the handset is its owner.
As always, it’s highly advisable that you back up your device before installing the software just to stay on the safe side.
