Samsung Galaxy S2 owners on Vodafone will be able to taste Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) starting next week, the carrier has confirmed.
Community manager Tom on Voda’s official forums has revealed the update has passed the network’s tests and should be released on April 12th (subject to change).
“The Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for Samsung Galaxy S2 has now been approved, and is set to be available on 12th April via Over The Air update and Samsung KIES. This is a provisional date which could change, but we'll let you know here if that's the case”.
O2 and Three have already begun rolling out ICS, while Orange has confirmed it will be available this month. This leaves T-Mobile to confirm a due date having revealed last month the update was still being tested.
Features ICS brings include Face Unlock, which does what it says on the tin, updated versions of native apps, enhanced multitasking and various performance optimisations.
