BlackBerry Curve 9320 unveiled, landing May 14th

Research in Motion (RIM) has lifted the lid on the latest Curve-branded handset, as the beleaguered phone-maker bids to recover from a ruinous 2011.

Set to go on sale on May 14th, the BB OS 7.1-powered BlackBerry Curve 9320 doesn’t deviate too much from the long-established formula for RIM’s consumer phones.

So, very much present and correct are a physical QWERTY keyboard, a 2.44-inch display of the non-touch variety and a 3.2 megapixel camera. And the usual array of BlackBerry services are on board too.

However, in a break from tradition, the phone also features a dedicated BlackBerry Messenger button - a tacit admission perhaps that it’s precisely those kind of services and not specs that sell RIM phones.

RIM is also touting the fact that the Curve 9320 comes with the latest Social Feeds app, which allows “users to post updates to multiple social networks simultaneously and capture updates from news sources (RSS), social apps and instant messaging apps all in one consolidated view”.

Three has confirmed it will be carrying the phone from launch, with free phone deals starting at £15 per month. Alternatively, if you fancy it on pay as you go, you’re looking at an outlay of just shy of £140.
