The iPhone 5 could have already broken free of the confines of Foxconn factories and be out in the wild, leaked snaps suggest.
Images apparently showing Apple's new phone in all its newly elongated glory have cropped up on a Chinese case manufacturer’s site. And fairly convincing they look too.
Present and correct are pretty much all the features that have now become rumour mill staples, including a smaller 19-pin dock connector and a taller form factor to accommodate a larger, four-inch screen.
However, reports that the phone will be significantly thinner look a little wide of the mark.
Casting some doubt on the veracity of the snaps is that, if the September/October due date being mooted for the phone is true, there’s a good chance that what we’re looking at is a prototype rather than the finished article.
Still, if the putative spec sheet is anything to go by it looks like it’ll be worth the wait, with features that take in a quad-core processor and upgraded eight-megapixel camera.
