A new update for the Ice Cream Sandwich edition of Android has been released for the international Samsung Galaxy Note, bringing it one step closer to the latest Jelly Bean iteration.
Android 4.0.4 has begun rolling out for the Galaxy Note in the UK and European counties (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Spain) via Samsung Kies and as an over-the-air (OTA) download.
Among the improvements it brings include various UI tweaks, bug fixes, faster web browsing and all-round smoother, snappier performance.
There are some new features, too, such as Signature Unlock, which, as the name suggests, allows you to sign your name with the S-Pen to access sensitive content, and Pop-up Play, which is a picture-in-picture effect that lets users to continue watching a video while working on other things.
It’s a fairly big update, clocking up at 176MB. So we advise using a Wi-Fi connection where available to avoid wasting your data allowance.
