Samsung Galaxy Note owners on Three have been assured that an update to Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) is still in the pipeline, despite ongoing quality assurance and compatibility testing that have delayed the platform bump.
The update was rolled out to unlocked editions of the handset in early June. But the best part of a month or so later, it’s yet to make its way to carrier-branded phones in the UK.
But rest assured, it’s not been abandoned. At least not if you’re with Three, which reassured a customer on Twitter that it is still testing ICS and will notify owners of a concrete release date as soon as possible.
Features Android 4.0 brings to the five million-selling handset include a range of performance enhancements, improved multi-tasking, some very welcome user-interface tweaks and the Face Unlock security function.
Note owners also get some exclusive apps created specifically for their phablet’s S-Pen stylus and hitherto unseen Angry Birds content.
