The Samsung Galaxy S3 Olympic edition goes on sale at Carphone Warehouse later this week, marking Sammy’s status as an official event sponsor.
Available on contracts starting at £28 per month from August 1st, the handset differs from the standard model with a special case adorned with Team GB livery.
The phone’s Near Field Communications (NFC) capabilities have also been put to good use for the duration of the Games, with owners able to use their Galaxy S3 handsets to pay for low-ticket items by swiping them over readers on the Olympics site.
Simon Stanford, Vice-President of Samsung's Telecommunications & Networks Division, said: "As a Worldwide Olympic Partner, we at Samsung want everyone to get behind Team GB and offer them support during the Olympic Games.
"We are delighted to be able to offer Carphone Warehouse customers the chance to own this exclusive London 2012 Samsung Galaxy SIII handset, combining the chance to support Team GB with owning a piece of cutting-edge Samsung technology."
Marketed as the first-ever smartphone to be ‘inspired by nature and designed for humans’, the S3 is already on its way to achieving ten million sales by the end of the September.
Featuring a pebble-shaped form factor and 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen, the S3’s real USPs are some smart tweaks to the Android OS, such as the SmartStay intelligent sleep mode and the Siri-rivalling S-Voice app.
