The official Twitter application for the iPhone looks set to receive a major update soon that’ll bring a long list of new features and improvements.
Details of the impending upgrade – version 4.3 – have leaked prematurely via the ‘Update History’ section of the app on the App Store. Among the highlights are a so-called ‘interactive tweet view’, which is basically a fancier term for ‘expanded tweets’ to allow images and videos to be viewed within tweets, and enhanced push notifications that’ll enable users to receive alerts when certain people tweet.
Elsewhere you’ll find personalised trends, the ability to go directly to a user’s profile by tapping their avatar, improved performance and numerous UI tweaks and bug fixes. Last but certainly not least, the new version will also feature the new Twitter logo. Exciting times!
Unfortunately we don’t know yet when the update will be released, but we’re guesstimating (and hoping) it’ll drop in the next few weeks.
