HTC plans to rollout Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) this month to handsets still in line for their dose of update love, it has announced.
The phone-maker confirmed via its official Facebook page that it intends to get ICS out by the end of the month to HTC phone owners still waiting on the platform bump.
"We're still working on getting the updates ready. We expect to have updates issues [sic] by the end of August for all devices that have been announced."
Handsets that are germane to the UK and to which the update will apply include the Desire S, as well as the original HTC Sensation and its Beats by Dre audio-toting XE and supersized XL variants.
But before you get too excited, it’s worth noting that HTC’s ‘end-of-the-month’ due date only applies to handsets bought SIM-free.
Those of you with HTC phones purchased on a monthly contract will have to wait while your network carries out tests and ensures the new OS works smoothly with its proprietary services.
