The much-anticipated, but less-spotted black edition of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be released in October, online vendor Clove has revealed.
Following confirmation from Mobile Fun and Expansys that they’re expecting an imminent release of the latest colourway, Clove has officially announced it will be ranging the black S3 with 64GB of internal storage in “early October”.
The retailer told uSwitch: “At the moment we are still waiting for pricing to be confirmed so we have not made it available for pre-order, but will update as soon as possible.”
Aside from a darker paintjob, everything else about the handset should be identical to the pebble blue and marble white variants. That means a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD screen, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and an eight-megapixel camera with full HD recording.
Also on board are numerous software enhancements such as the Siri-rivalling S-Voice personal assistant and a sleep-mode function dubbed ‘SmartStay’ that keeps the phone’s screen on as long as you’re looking at it.
We estimate the handset to cost about £599 when bought SIM free. Unless you’ve got more money than sense, it might be best to wait until contract options are available shortly after release. Stay tuned.
