Samsung will lift the lid on a Windows Phone 8 handset at today’s IFA showcase, rumours suggest.
The show and tell has long been known to be the site of the official unveiling of the Android powered Galaxy Note 2 – the company’s second-ever tilt at a phablet.
However, it has just emerged courtesy of a Tweet from PC Mag tech writer, that Samsung could also spring a major surprise on us by also using the event to debut a handset running the latest version of the rival Windows Phone platform.
Assuming the speculation and his source is correct, it would be something of a surprise – to say the least. Given Nokia’s close financial relationship with Nokia, it had been assumed that the Finnish phone-maker would be the first company to bring a Windows 8 handset to market.
We'll find out for sure soon, though. Check back here soon and we'll bring you all the news from Samsung's IFA appearance later today.
