Apple has reportedly begun sending out press invitations to a special event on September 12th that can only mean the imminent unveiling of the iPhone 5.
The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple revealed yesterday that he received an invite from the Cupertino-based giant for a press gathering due to take place next Tuesday at 10am at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, the venue it traditionally favours for announcing new iDevices.
Better still, the invites comes in the shape of an image (below) stating ‘It’s almost here’ and the number ‘12’ in large font, which somehow casts a shadow that very obviously looks like the number 5. Natch, we’re taking this as confirmation the event will be about the iPhone 5.
While there are still suspicions about the photo’s authenticity, we reckon it’s the real thing. Principally because Dalrymple is famous for his knowledge of matters down at Cupertino.
So there you have it. The iPhone 5 will be officially revealed on September 12th. Stay tuned.
